MUSIC MINISTRY
Mission
The primary music of the liturgy is the singing assembly. Music ministers assist and lead fellow parishioners in the music of the liturgy. Choir members and instrumentalists learn harmonies and fuller expressions of the music that add to the singing assembly. For Christmas, Easter and Holy Trinity Sunday, the ministry prepares concert pieces. Cantors are trained to sing the responsorial psalms and other parts of the Mass as needed.
Requirements
Singers do not need to read music, but basic reading music skills are very helpful in learning parts. Must be able to hear and match tones and sing in pitch. Instrumentalists should have 4-5 years of experience in playing their instrument and requires an audition.
