MARIAN HOUSE SOUP KITCHEN

To provide daily meals and services to people in need for enhancing the value and dignity of human life

Activities
|
Work from 7am to 1:30pm at soup kitchen, 14 W. Bijou, to cook beans; prepare and serve nutritional casseroles, chili, soup; collect donated food from local grocery stores; serve approx. 650-700 meals daily; organize volunteers to cook and serve. TO VOLUNTEER AT HOME: cook beans for chili (dry beans may be picked up in the church foyer, cooked, then dropped off at the soup kitchen Thursday morning).

Organizes and promotes events that foster a greater understanding of the Church's teachings to respect life in all of its phases.

Pro-life Masses and witness at abortion facility, documentary showings, community education and awareness events, educational seminars for youth.

Mission
|
To provide food and substance to those experiencing the hardship of providing for their families.

Activities
|
Collect and manage funds for provisions of SHARE. Pick up and distribute food for approx. 100-150 families several times a year for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

Distributions on Saturday mornings several times yearly.
